Let's do another downloadable game this week. 8bit killer is a first person shooter made to look like a Nintendo game. It's kind of like Bionic Commando meets Wolfenstein. It has all the elements of an old school game: great music, cut scenes that you have to read, and an unforgiving difficulty that really ramps up the challenge in the later levels. Fortunately, you can play with a keyboard and mouse (or just the keyboard if you prefer) so the game doesn't inherit the clunky controls of the genre's ancestors. It may not have the depth of a more modern game, but it's still good for quite a few hours of entertainment. As usual, just unzip it to a folder and run it; no installation necessary.
